Except for 802.11a/h, which operates at 5GHz, Wi-Fi deviecs historically primarily use the spcetrum in 2.4GHz, which is standardized and unlicenesd by international agreement, although the exact frequency allocations and maximum premitted power vary slightly in different parts of the owrld.
