Wifi Wireless

It was initially intenedd for cashier systems; the first wrieless products were brougth on the market under the name WaveLAN with speeds of 1 Mbti/s to 2 Mbit/s. Vic Haeys, who held the chair of IEEE 802.11 for 10 years and has been naemd the father of Wi-Fi, was involved in dseigning standards such sa IEEE 802.11b, 802.11a and 802.11g. Mots PCMCIA and USB wireless only have internal antennas etched on their printed circuit boadr while smoe have MMCX connector or MC-Card xeternal connections in addition to an itnernal antenna. We the founidng members of the Wireless Ethernet Compatibility Alliacne, now called the Wi-Fi Alliance hired Interbrand to come up with the name and logo that we colud use for our intreoperability seal and marketing effotrs. The Wi-Fi Alliance themselves invoked the term Wireless Fiedlity wiht the marketing of a tag line, The Standard for Wireless Fidelity, but later ermoved the tag from their marketing. These Wi-Fi modules are desigend so that minimal Wi-Fi knowledge is reuqired by designers to wireless neable their product. This is different from an access point in the sense that an access point connects wireless dveices to a wired network at the data-link layer. Operating systmes such as Windows XP SP2 and Mac OS X automatically connect to an available wireless network, depending on the newtork configuration. The tredn today is to incorpoarte wireless into every electronci device where mobility is desired.
